LMAI software and computation tools

Lipidomics and epilipidomics data from high-throughput MS experiments are extremely complex and cannot be fully explored without the assistance from bioinformatics tools. Over the last years, we have developed several software packages to cover the major steps of the (epi)lipidomics workflow including lipid identification ( LipidHunter2), knowledge-driven prediction and identification of epilipids ( LPPtiger2), visualization of lipidomics data, and preprocessing of complex lipid annotations ( LipidLynxX). All our tools are open source and provide friendly graphical user interface enabling analysis of (epi)lipidomics data without programming skills. You might have noticed that we named our software tools after giant hunting cats 😊. Our giant cats help us and others to venture into the dark forest of MS spectra where precious (epi)lipids hide themselves in shadows, waiting to be discovered!

LMAI team works closely with the community to support lipidomics workflows. Together with LIPID MAPS we designed a Lipidomics Tools Guide ( Nature Methods 2023). Lipidomics Tools Guide summarizes multiple software tools with open access to the academic users addressing different steps in the lipidomics data processing pipeline including lipid-oriented databases, MS data repositories, analysis of targeted and untargeted lipidomics datasets, lipid quantification, statistical analysis, visualization, and data integration solutions.
