Andrea Venturi
PostDoctoral researcher
Andrea received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Perugia (Italy) in 2019. He conducted his thesis research in H-ECoTox Lab headed by Prof. Gabriele Cruciani and Prof. Laura Goracci, where he focused on chemometric studies of PROTACs datasets as well their synthesis. He continued his Master’s studies in Organic Chemistry in Perugia, and worked further in H-ECoTox lab on the Master’s thesis, using computational and experimental approaches to measure the lipophilicity of PROTAC compounds.
In 2025, Andrea completed his Ph.D. at the H-ECoTox Lab (now DAISY Lab) under the supervision of Prof. Gabriele Cruciani and Prof. Laura Goracci. The most significant focus of his Ph.D. research involved the exploration of green alternative solvents for sustainable lipidomics workflows, as well as the study of PROTACs physicochemical properties, including the development of analytical methods to measure their lipophilicity and solubility. Throughout his Ph.D. studies, Andrea got excited in analytical methods development and the utilization of mass spectrometry. Andrea joined LMAI group in January 2025.
Research interests
Andrea’s research is focused on understanding the dynamics of lipidome remodeling under metabolic and redox stress in the context of hepatocellular carcinoma and ferroptotic cell death. By employing chemical biology tools, imaging mass spectrometry and high-resolution LC-MS/MS he aims to provide a time- and space-resolved map of lipidome remodeling at molecular level covering various aspects of lipid metabolism with unprecedent cell type specificity reflecting a range of metabolic and histological microenvironments.
